It was just after 3:00 a.m. when I arrived home from work. The downtown lights outside my apartment illuminated my bedroom, casting shadows against the walls. As usual, it would take me a few hours to wind down from my evening. Often, the adrenaline from my job still flooded through my veins when I got home, making it difficult to fall asleep. So, I’d indulge in one of my favorite self-care rituals; a hot bath with lavender Epsom salt. Jade taught me about those and said they were essential to winding down. She wasn’t wrong.

As I meandered into the bathroom, with my spa music playlist coming through my phone speaker, I balanced it on the edge of the soaker tub. On the ledge next to it sat a black matchbook with the Club Euphoria logo emblazoned on it. With a small smile, I struck a match and lit the two candles, one vanilla, one lavender, that were perched on either side of the tub. After blowing out the match and dimming the overhead lights, I shed my long soft robe and slipped into the steaming water.

The heat was almost unbearable, but it was exactly how I liked it. Sinking deeper into the tub, I closed my eyes and let myself fully relax. My job at Luxe was demanding and fast-paced, constantly keeping me on my feet. It was moments like these, surrounded by flickering candlelight and immersed in soothing scents, that allowed me to unwind and escape from it all.

Tonight was extra relaxing. A portion of my evening had been spent with Nico. Our nightly routine had become my favorite thing about my job. I loved spending time with him, and I loved that our relationship had no pressure that came along with it. I’d been loving every second of him teaching me about being a submissive, and tonight drove me insane.

Even when I lay vulnerable on the bed, restrained by his hands, I felt an unshakable sense of strength and control. He pushed me to explore my boundaries, and I willingly placed my trust in him, knowing that he would never hurt me was a significant triumph for me, especially after everything I had endured at the hands of the Knight family’s enemies. But with Nico, there was never a moment of fear or doubt. In his presence, I found solace and security that eluded me for so long.

My phone buzzing on the edge of the tub caused my eyes to spring open. I looked at the screen and saw his name with a new text message. Reaching for the hand towel that I always kept nearby, I dried my hands while noting the time — thirty minutes had already gone by. With a sigh, I stood up and drained the tub before stepping into the shower to wash off. After drying myself again, I picked up my phone and opened the message.

You didn’t text me to let me know you got home ok.
